Snack mixes are my favorite treat while on the go. They’re extremely easy to prepare! Kids like them! They’re healthy and yummy! And you can take them with yourself nearly anywhere…

Traditional Mountain Trail Mix” is in fact considered a trail mix snack which is a subcategory of snack mixes. Trail mixes are usually used for taking with yourself on hiking and generally to be used outdoor.

The main ingredients of this snack mix are peanuts, raisins, almonds, and M&Ms. It’s fully packed with beneficial nutrients and is so helpful for your heart. My kids love them, so I usually make them in a large amount and keep them in a large jar to be used during the month.

They’re also a perfect snack for family gatherings, parties, and all kinds of celebrations.

Peanuts

peanuts are, most probably, the most favorite nut in United States. Not only this nut is a perfect match for any snack mix but it’s also fully packed with healthy nutrients which bring amazing health benefits.

It’s surprising to know that these tasty nuts contain the same amount of antioxidants as antioxidant-rich fruits such as blackberries and strawberries. Antioxidants improve cardiovascular and heart’s health and reduce the risk of stroke.

Peanuts also contain monounsaturated fats which are considered as a great nutrient for improving heart health.

Improving heart and cardiovascular health are not the only health benefits of peanuts but it can bring a large variety of other health benefits. Below is a list of health benefits of peanuts:

M&Ms are, by far, my most favorite chocolate candy brand. The reason is simply because they’re yummy, beautiful (there are 180 different colors in a single pack), and healthier than other brands! I usually order them in large packs. This ingredient of our amazing snack mix is less healthy than the others, but gives a great taste to the mix and I usually prefer not to omit it from the mixture. But, if you prefer to make your snack mix 100% healthy, you can just simply ignore this ingredient at the expense of sacrificing some taste and making it less appealing to kids.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of almonds
  • 1 cup of raisins
  • 1 cup of peanuts
  • 1 cup of M&Ms

Instructions: Mix all of the ingredients together in a big bowl and enjoy eating them up on the go!

After mixing all ingredients I usually store them in a large jar. This large beautiful jar can also be given away as a gift to a friend or family 🙂
